Interstitial Lung Disease

EPI is a general term for a large group of diseases that cause scarring (fibrosis) in the lungs. Scars cause stiffness in the lungs, making it difficult to breathe and transport oxygen into the blood. Lung damage caused by PID is usually irreversible and worsens over time.
